Desert Star Playhouse

General Laborer

My time working at Desert Star Playhouse

At Desert Star Playhouse, I had the opportunity to work under my great uncle, Ken Lineberry. My responsibilities were diverse, ranging from spreading salt on sidewalks at apartment buildings during icy weather to assisting with stage set transitions. I also helped clean and clear out apartments after tenants moved out. This involved removing all furniture and belongings, followed by tearing out flooring, baseboards, and any other damaged materials.

One of my favorite parts of the job was participating in "Strike Night." This was when we transitioned stage sets between productions. After the cast performed the final show of a production, we would remove all the old set pieces and carefully bring in the new ones for the next show. The energy and teamwork during these late-night transitions made it a truly memorable experience.
